Our boys, 3 1/2 years apart, vary between quite friendly and sworn enemies. I think the age difference is an important factor. They're a bit like the relationship between spouses (sometimes fighting over even very small things) with MUCH less maturity. Is it better than one? Well, my own "lonely only" childhood looks pretty cool sometimes! But I see the seeds of a lifelong friendship.

I'd prefer more pets to more kids. Pets are much less grief & don't like as long. Plus you can't take your kids to the Animal Shelter if you get a bad one
