Hey crap, I just typed out this huge post on my phone, and promptly managed to erase it. ARG!
Anyway, condensed retype, many of your posts remind me strongly of my struggle before I was finally diagnosed with narcolepsy. For me, no falling asleep suddenly or other weirdness. Just always ALWAYS tires and hungry, no matter how much I ate or slept. Then at night, I would lie awake tossing and turning. Finally had a sleep study done, and now I have meds that I refuse to live without. I can function again, eat reasonable portions, control cravings (to some extent, lol) and while sleep still isn't restful, I at least sleep at the right time.
Get a sleep study done. Demand a "multiple sleep latency test." Don't let them tell you that you can't take a stimulant because of your mental health issues. I also have anxiety and other problems, and the ability to function again has actually reduced my anxiety and depression. Having a regular healthy sleep schedule has worked wonders.
