I hated chili. HATED IT. Told you every time. Would you let me eat something else? Nope. I had to eat it all....or I could wait an hour and wear you down to a four-bite compromise.
Too bad you caught on to my "fill up on crackers and milk" ploy early.
I still hate chili.
@ Audrey: She probably didn't like the taste, and hadn't yet realised that sipping actually means you taste it more (which is why one sips the 100 y.o. brandy, after all). I remember being pretty convinced that if a tiny bit of something tasted bad, a lot would be terrible, rather than being about that bad for a moment longer and then dealt with.
When my niece was about 5 she had to take a liquid medicine. She got her dosage in a little medicine cup with her meals. And she would sip that stuff like it was a 100 year old brandy or something. An hour later we'd be trying to get out the door and she was still at the table with only half the dose gone.
Oh. My. Nondenominational diety.
That's EXACTLY WHAT IT'S LIKE! A bowl of cereal at breakfast can take up to 25 minutes. A damn sandwich? An hour minimum. And they wonder why they have to be up SO EARLY to go to school.
My son just holds his food in his mouth without chewing. I am assuming he wants it to dissolve through osmosis. It ticks me off and i start yelling, chew! Cheew! Haha
OMG yes, with my first. We used to say she could single-handedly bring the "Slow Food" movement to its knees. Even those folks would be like, "HURRY UP ALREADY!!!"
