Just FYI, that's actually the 1st edition Advanced Dungeons & Dragons (AD&D) PHB, not related to the original Dungeons & Dragons (OD&D) game.. It's common to confuse 1st Ed. AD&D with OD&D, because everyone calls it the first edition. Original D&D books were softback books that came out of a 3 volume white box set. http://www.waynesbooks.net/?page=shop/post&post_id=24

E.Snider: Just FYI, that's the Original Player's Handbook there, not the DM's Guide...! (Though I do agree it's superb detail!) :-)

Life: The Role-Playing Game - It's endless and depressing, but on the bright side, the rules suck.

Probably one of the most disillusioning things about becoming an adult is discovering that adults don't really have it together either. It seems like a lot of people are just really good at faking it in front of their boss despite not having any actual competency at it. It's a bit scary but at the same time it's rather reassuring that there's not something wrong with me if I'm old enough to be an adult but I don't have it all figured out yet. Fake it until you make it, I guess.
