As a child (well around 12 or so IIRC) I once got slightly tipsy because a bottle of Zima had been put in the freezer and had shattered. I wondered why those ice cubes were so addictive.

Luckily for my parents (and me, probably), I didn't try beer until I'd developed the taste buds for bitterness, and consequently I absolutely hated it. And even now, at twenty-nine, I still have a very hard time enjoying the more bitter (hoppy?) beers.

As a toddler, I used to steal my mothers glass of port wine and drink it, if I could get my hands on it. My maternal grandfather distracted me from the port by letting me dip my pacifier in his beer. I liked that too!
I later found out that young children cannot taste bitter things. The ability comes around 3 or something. Therefore, beer tastes only sweet to them.

One time my three year old had a grape juice mustache. We didn't have any grape juice. She had gotten into mommy's wine and she liked it.
