And then there is the double-edged sword of keeping the baby in bed with you from the start (or in a nearby bassinet): You always know they're okay, however, good luck getting them into their own bed at a later age!

I have recently decided that I am suffering from PTSD: Parent (of a) Toddler Sleep Deprivation.
Sadly, I came up with that after my toddler made a weird-ass noise in the middle of the night and then went right back to sleep, leaving me awake for the next 2 hours... then, just as I drifted to sleep, he woke up for real....
