This is why I stopped going to the Dollar Store or Party City for party favors and just pick up some big chocolate bars at Aldi instead.
The kids love the idea, and the parents only have to worry about it for about a day (the kids can only eat about half, which leaves the other half for the parents to devour!).
I avoid candy when putting together gift bags. And I let my kids pick out the crap to go in it. I think we had Ninja Turtles, Mickey and Paw Patrol stuff for my son's gift bags last Oct. My daughter goes for art and bling in hers.
